a look into the past and the future of flip phone features

First Post!

Welcome to Flip-Phone Phanatic!

This blog is a project of mine, an attempt at wordpress editor proficiency, but also will host my cellphone related ramblings from time to time. This blog’s mission is to provide you with entertainment and education about flipphones/slidephones/and other feature phones from the 90s-2010s era. A love-letter to a bygone era of technology meets communication, with hopes and open-mindedness for technology’s future.

Today’s Flipphone of the day is the F-06D Girls’ phone, made by Fujitsu and designed in cooperation with fashion publication nicola. Sold and offered through docomo, the Japanese phone-carrier, the phone is designed with a “girly” aesthetic in mind, more specifically, clearly influenced by gyaru and hime-gyaru aesthetics of the time, and a pink and navy colour-palette, also reflective of the 2011-2012 time-period in young women’s fashion in Japan.

A list of specs can be found in an archived article on docomo’s website, please note the page is only available in Japanese language.
